Visual acuity is assessed unilaterally and bilaterally using a near point chart. Testing should be performed with and without corrected vision if the patient uses corrective contacts and/or corrective glasses. If the patient wears bifocals, make sure he or she looks through the reading part of lens. Document normal or abnormal responses.
