Introduction

• Examination includes sensory testing of facial dermatomes, jaw and corneal reflexes, and motor assessment of the masseter and temporalis muscles

Tests to be performed

• Sensory, motor and reflex testing

Expected findings

• Normal discrimination of sensation, normal reflexes, and symmetric/normal muscle function and tone

Equipment

• Sensory (neurological) reflex hammer
• Test tubes (2) for hot/cold sensory testing
