Triceps Brachii Tendon Localization and Essential Anatomy

With the patient positioned as pictured to the right, the triceps tendon can be located on the dorsal side of the distal arm about 2 cm above the olecranon process, or the blue dashed line on the diagram. If needed, the patient can sub-maximally contract the Triceps to further localize the tendon. The tendon will look and feel like a rounded cord.
