A - D | E - H | I - L | M - P | Q - T | U - Z | Romberg's sign: A sign that is characterized by a reduced ability to balance with vision occluded; may be indicative of proprioceptive fixing. Saccades: Rapid eye movements that move the line of sight between successive points. Scotomas: Damaged areas of the macula that result in distorted, hazy, or blank areas in the visual field. Seizures: An epileptic attack or the sudden onset of a disease process or specific symptoms. Space perception: The ability to perceive the relative distances of objects and the absolute distance from an object to the observer. Spasticity: A state of increased muscular tone characterized by exaggeration of the tendon reflexes and muscle resistance to passive movements. Stereognosis: The appreciation of the form of an object by means of touch. Tinnitus: A sensation of ringing or whistling in the ears. Torticollis: A contraction of the muscles of the neck that typically involve muscles supplied by the spinal accessory nerve and characterized by a deformity that results in cervical rotation opposite the direction of cervical side bending. Tracking: The ability to find and fixate on an object and follow its movement.
