Mechanoreceptors: A receptor that is sensitive to pressure and touch.Nociceptive: A painful stimulus.
Pain: An unpleasant sensory stimulation. Known to be the fifth vital sign.
Peripheral Nervous System (PNS): Is composed of the 12 pairs of cranial nerves and the 31 pairs of spinal nerves. This system can be further subdivided into the autonomic and somatic nervous systems.
Polyneuropathy: A disorder that affects multiple neurons.
Proprioception: A deep sensation about the relative position of body segments in space.
